Instructional Design Mission Statement
Integrity is “firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values,” meaning if one shows integrity, they are honest, have high morals, and are trustworthy (Meriam-Webster, n.d.). My portfolio will have these traits. It will show original thought and design. It will also show how multimedia principles are used to create meaningful learning experiences for learners. According to Mayers, when designing content, it should follow multimedia principles, including graphics and text. Finding graphics that support the text and learning goals is essential (Clark, 2002). Through my work, one can see how multimedia principles were applied.
One part of instructional design is creating content that is unique to each learning solution and reflects the skills of the instructional designer. For example, the Behavior Tier infographic was used to explain strategies that can be used for different behavior tiers. The microlearning asset was created to help teachers create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Videos, infographics, and mind maps were used to appeal to the target audience.
